Bact•Rox Medium is an extremely porous filtration medium designed for use in all aquariums and aquatic systems to enhance bio-filtration. Each liter of Bact•Rox offers over 7,500 square feet of surface area internally for bacterial colonization, enabling nitrification and providing vast anaerobic or anoxic surfaces to support denitrification.

Use in Aquarium Keeping

For optimal results, Bact•Rox Medium should be paired with:

• Reef BioPellet•Fuel, Reef Micro•Fuel, or Flora Viv Prolifera carbon sources to accelerate natural bacterial growth.
• BacterClean•M or F, BacterGen•M or F, or BacterGen•MD microbial cultures to jump-start and maintain bacterial colonization at elevated levels.

Directions and Protocol

Follow these steps for effective use:

1. Dosage: Utilize a minimum of 100 ml of Bact•Rox for every 10 U.S. gallons (40 liters) of aquarium volume. Adjust dosage based on bioload.
2. Rinse: Thoroughly rinse Bact•Rox in purified tap water or aquarium water.
3. Optional Pre-Seeding:
   • Place Bact•Rox in a plastic bucket submerged in aquarium water.
   • Add the recommended dose of bacterial products (e.g., BacterClean or BacterGen) suitable for your aquarium size.
   • Let it soak for 24 hours, occasionally stirring or gently agitating the liquid.
4. Placement: After rinsing or pre-seeding, place Bact•Rox into your filter.
5. Pre-Filtration: Use a filter floss, sponge, or other mechanical pre-filtration to prevent fouling.

By following these steps and pairing with recommended products, you can maximize the filtration efficiency and maintain a healthy aquatic environment.
